Anchorage police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in midtown.
Just after 4 a.m., the Anchorage Police Department received a call that a male had shown up to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Further investigation revealed the victim was the front passenger in a vehicle traveling in the area of C Street and International Airport Road. Police say another vehicle pulled up on the passenger side of their vehicle and fired several rounds.
“The victim vehicle was hit multiple times,” a release from APD says. “The victim vehicle immediately drove to the hospital.”
Police say the victim’s wound is non-life-threatening, and the other two people in the vehicle were not injured.
At this time, APD is not releasing any suspect information, and no arrests have been made in this incident.
