ANCHORAGE - The family of 31-year-old Aylett Hanson is asking for the public’s help after his body was found in a Spenard parking lot Thursday.
According to Hanson’s sister, Melia Strickler, he told his girlfriend he was going to run errands Wednesday night, but never made it home.
“We were texting each other around 11:45 a.m.,” she told KTVA. “We were talking about out our father but then the texting stopped.”
Strickler shared with us one of the last text messages she wrote. It read: “Starting to get worried about you!!! Please respond!”
Police found him inside his sister’s Mazda in a parking lot in the 2600 block of Spenard Road around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. According to police, someone noticed a body and dialed 911.
“I think we’re all really, really shocked right now,” Strickler said. “He’s the last person who deserved anything like this.”
Police are waiting on autopsy results. In the meantime, the family is asking anyone with any information to come forward.
“It happened right near the Bear Tooth Theatre,” she said. “If anybody saw anything in the vicinity we would love to hear it.”
