The victim in the homicide investigation has been identified as 31-year-old Aylett Hanson of Anchorage, according to police. His next of kin have been notified and the investigation is ongoing.

ANCHORAGE – Police are investigating a body found in a Spenard parking lot Thursday afternoon.
Police said they received a call at 3:24 p.m. after a security guard patrolling the area noticed an unresponsive man inside a Mazda in the lot, located on the 2600 block of Spenard Road.
The parking lot was closed down shortly before 4 p.m., police said, and the man was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the death as a homicide, said police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro in a statement.
The man has not been identified.
