An employee of the Eagle River Wal-Mart was injured while attempting to stop an allegedly shoplifting group of teens from leaving the store Wednesday night.
Anchorage police responded to the Wal-Mart after receiving initial reports of an armed robbery. When they arrived, store employees told them a loss prevention specialist was shot in the face with a BB gun while trying to stop the teen suspects from leaving the store with unpaid merchandise, specifically, airsoft guns.
Police ascertained three suspects were involved and apprehended one of them. The others reportedly fled the scene. Police are still looking for the suspects.
The employee injured in the altercation was “OK,” according to police at the scene.
