Police in Anchorage are looking for a man who ran from officers on Thursday morning.
Just before 5:45 a.m., the Anchorage Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the road near West 33rd Avenue and Turnagain Street. An online release stated APD was told two men were in the vehicle and one of them “appeared to be slumped over the wheel.”
When officers got there, the passenger — later identified as 31-year-old Steven Treadway – jumped out of the vehicle and ran away from police into the woods. APD searched the area, but did not find the man.
According to a release from the police department Treadway has three felony warrants for failure to appear in court on charges of burglary, second- and third-degree theft, forgery, tampering with evidence and drug possession.
Police wrote Treadway is believed to hang around in the Spenard and Fairview areas.
