Police in Anchorage are looking for a 25-year-old man who allegedly held a driver at gunpoint and took the vehicle, according to a Tuesday release.
At 9 p.m. on Sunday, a man picked up a hitchhiker, who the Anchorage Police Department has identified as 25-year-old Brendon Wesley Adam Valdez, in the area of 36th Avenue and Dorbrandt Street.
The man told APD he drove Valdez to several locations in Anchorage and the two picked up a third man. Valdez then pulled out a gun, told the driver to get into the passenger seat, and held the man at gunpoint while the three drove around. Early Monday morning, Valdez let the man go unharmed. The car, a 2006 white Ford coupe license GRK103, has not yet been found.
According to APD, a felony warrant for Brendon Valdez includes charges of robbery, assault, kidnapping, vehicle theft and theft. Police stated Valdez also has two unrelated felony warrants for probation violations.
