Anchorage police say they are looking for a male suspect who allegedly robbed a Brown Jug store on Fireweed Lane early Sunday morning.
Multiple callers reported the robbery around 12:30 a.m., according to a statement from police spokeswoman Renee Oistad.
“According to witnesses, a black male entered the store with a long gun, and ordered the clerk to give him money from the cash register,” Oistad wrote. “The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash.”
At least two people were in the store at the time of the robbery, including a customer. Oistad said no one was hurt.
The suspect left the area on foot, and a K9 search for him was unsuccessful, she said.
He was wearing dark clothing and had a bandana covering his face. Oistad said at this time, images from surveillance cameras at the store will not be made public.
Anyone with any information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to call Anchorage police at 907-786-8900. An anonymous tip can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling 907-561-7867.
