ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Anchorage police are investigating two robberies of pedestrians on city streets.
Shortly before 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, two men walking near Piper Street and 42nd Avenue were approached by two armed men.
The suspects took wallets and cellphones and fled in a dark blue four-door sedan driven by a third person. The suspects were described as African-American men.
At 4 a.m., a person walking along Dimond Boulevard near the Costco gas pumps was accosted by an armed man in a mask who stepped out of the passenger side of a car and stole the victim’s cellphone.
The suspect struck the victim in the face with the gun.
The suspect was described as African-American. He fled in a late-1990s model two-door silver hatchback sedan.
Police don’t know if the incidents are connected.
