Residents in East Anchorage are being asked to lock their doors and watch out for a male suspected of assaulting multiple people early Monday morning.
Police in Anchorage sent multiple Nixle alerts Monday, asking the public to be aware of an assault suspect on foot in the Muldoon and East Anchorage areas.
In the first alert just after 6 a.m., the Anchorage Police Department said it was looking for a suspect described as a black male, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing shorts and no shirt near Muldoon Road and Duben Avenue.
In a later alert, APD elaborated that just before 5 a.m. police received a call from a female who lives in the Boundary Avenue area, who stated that her home was broken into and a male tried to assault her. Police said she fought back and the suspect fled on foot.
Nearly half an hour later, APD dispatch was called again about a male entering a home in the same area and assaulting a female. Police stated that a male in the home chased off the suspect.
APD stated the suspect descriptions were “very similar.” They are advising residents in the area to “lock their doors, secure their home and be extra vigilant of their safety.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact APD immediately.
