Three men accused in a Christmas Eve double homicide in Anchorage’s Mountain View neighborhood appeared in court Friday.
Lamarkus Jayqwann Mann, 22, Jaylyn Franklin, 19, and De Anthony Malik Harris, 19, are charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and two counts of second-degree murder.
Franklin has also been charged with tampering with evidence.
Attorneys for the three defendants entered not guilty pleas on all charges.
Danielle Brooks, 32 and Christopher Brooks, 38, were the victims of an apparent drug-related shooting, according to court documents. Their young child was found at the scene uninjured and is currently living with family members.
Police initially received a call about the shooting around 4 p.m., Dec. 24.
A police affidavit stated that Christopher Brooks was shot multiple times after the three men entered the Brooks’ home and demanded “drugs and money.” Franklin told police Mann likely shot Danielle Brooks because she was a witness to her husband’s killing.
