ANCHORAGE — Multiple shots were fired outside the Dimond Center Hotel Saturday night, striking the north side of the building and breaking at least one window.
Anchorage police issued a dispatch about the shooting at 11:25 p.m., saying they had responded to the scene of the shooting and found multiple stray bullets had hit the hotel.
Inside the hotel, Homer resident Jordin Keintz was in a third-floor room with his wife and two daughters when they heard the shots.
“I just told the girls to get down, to lay down, we didn’t even look out the window cuz we just heard so many bullets so fast,” he said Sunday.
He said they waited a few minutes before moving.
“My youngest wanted to run up to the window and I told her to get down,” Keintz said. “I didn’t know if it was fireworks, I didn’t know what it was. We never even looked out the window. So by the time it was over, by the time I actually did look out the window, everyone was gone.”
He said police were already at the hotel when he looked out the window.
No one was injured during the shooting, according to police.
Requests for additional information about the shooting were not immediately answered by police.
