A 17-year-old boy died Saturday after he was shot in the back in Government Hill, Anchorage police said.
The boy was found in the roadway on the 700 block of Birch Street just after midnight, police said in a statement.
The boy was taken to a nearby hospital alive, but he later died there from his wounds, according to police.
“The victim’s family has been notified, but because he is a juvenile, his name is not being released,” police wrote. “Homicide Detectives are actively investigating the case, but are not able to release further details at this time.”
