The Anchorage Police Department is investigating a shooting that wounded a woman Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement, APD spokeswoman Renee Oistad said someone called police to report a shooting at a Melody Place home just after 12:30 p.m. A few minutes later, someone else called from the home and reported that someone had been shot, according to Oistad.
When police arrived at the home, they found four people inside, including a woman who’d been shot in the arm, Oistad explained, adding that no one else was hurt. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Oistad stated that two males fled the area on foot, but that no other suspect information was available at this time.
“Initial indications are that this was a targeted event,” she added.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call APD at 907-786-8900, or submit an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers online or by calling 907-561-7867.
