A woman underwent surgery Monday after she was stabbed while sleeping in an Anchorage home, police say.
At 8:50 a.m., a hospital employee called police to alert them of the stabbing after the woman was dropped of with “a serious wound to the abdomen,” police spokeswoman Renee Oistad said in a statement. The victim’s prognosis was not immediately available.
Police learned the stabbing took place in a Penland Parkway trailer home belonging to 51-year-old Annie Heinrich. According to Oistad, the victim and her boyfriend, 32-Ronald Lambert Jr., had been staying in Heinrich’s trailer, and were involved in some sort of altercation with Heinrich the day before the stabbing. Heinrich wanted the couple to move out “due to drug-related issues,” Oistad wrote.
“Heinrich is accused of stabbing the victim this morning while the victim slept,” Oistad said. “Whether or not anyone else was in the trailer at the time of the stabbing is still under investigation; no one else was injured.”
Heinrich was arrested at her home and taken to the Anchorage Police Department headquarters for further questioning. Police charged her with first-degree assault, according to Oistad.
She said Lambert drove the victim to the hospital, but then left, and police haven’t been able to speak with him about the stabbing.
“Detectives would like to speak with Lambert regarding his knowledge of this morning’s crime,” Oistad said.
Lambert is also wanted on two warrants for charges related to theft and burglary, she added.
He is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and a large tattoo on the front of his neck.
