The Anchorage Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man injured.
Monday morning before 5, officers were called to the 3900 block of Barbara Street in Spenard on reports of shots fired. Upon their arrival, officers located a man suffering gunshot wounds to the torso and leg.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The victim told police he was walking down the street when a dark-colored sedan pulled up and the Samoan driver demanded his cellphone. When the victim failed to comply with the man’s demands, the rear passenger fired two shots, according to the victim’s statement.
None of the suspects were known to the victim, police say, and no further descriptions were provided by the victim.
