ANCHORAGE – A man has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted a hotel security guard, fracturing his face in multiple places, authorities said.
Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, a woman called police who said her boyfriend, 24-year-old Hunter Hedrick, had assaulted her and left her San Roberto Avenue residence on foot, according to a statement from police spokeswoman Anita Shell.
Her head and face were beaten, Shell said in an email. The severity of her injuries is not known at this time.
After interviewing the woman, officers obtained a felony assault warrant for Hedrick’s arrest.
Around midnight Friday, Hedrick tried to get a room at the Springhill Suites, located at 4050 University Lake Dr., Shell said.
He became “irate” with a hotel clerk, Shell said, and started shouting obscenities.
Springhill Suites security officer Jeffrey Palm, 55, stepped in and asked Hedrick to calm down.
Instead, Shell said, Hedrick punched Palm in the face, which knocked him to the ground.
Hedrick punched Palm “repeatedly” until another employee, 42-year-old William Grafton, intervened, Shell said.
Grafton’s arm was broken during the assault.
Police tracked Hedrick down shortly after and he was arrested on multiple assault charges. He was taken to the Anchorage Jail and is being held without bail.
Palm remains hospitalized as of Friday afternoon.
