Anchorage Police have arrested a 20-year-old man who they say beat and stabbed his girlfriend.
Thursday afternoon around 3:30, police were notified by a witness of an assault that occurred at a bus stop near Arctic Boulevard and Fireweed Lane.
Frankie Warner-Willhoit and his girlfriend got into a verbal altercation while walking, Anchorage Police say, and when the pair reached the bus stop, Warner-Willhoit began punching the victim in the head, and he also stabbed her in the chest and leg.
The victim was able to walk to a business in the 2400 block of Arctic Boulevard where employees called 911; the victim was taken to the hospital where she underwent surgery for injuries police described as not life-threatening.
Warner-Willhoit was found and arrested in the 200 block of East 56th Avenue; he’s charged with second-degree assault.
