A two-person altercation in the Western Alaska village of Levelock left an Eagle River man dead Friday evening, in what was reported to Alaska State Troopers as a stabbing.
An online dispatch posted Saturday night said troopers investigating the death of 37-year-old Ellis Lee Kaloke arrived in Levelock, roughly 40 miles north of Naknek, at about 9 p.m. Friday.
“Upon arrival at the scene troopers found a victim deceased,” troopers wrote. “Investigation at the scene revealed a dispute occurred between a homeowner and a visitor which escalated into a physical confrontation resulting in the death of (Kaloke).”
The incident remains under investigation according to the dispatch, which did not identify the other person involved or mention any criminal charges being filed.
Kaloke’s next of kin, as well as the state medical examiner’s office, have been notified of his death.
