A passenger aboard a state ferry was arrested Monday morning for possessing methamphetamine valued at around $15,000, Alaska State Troopers said.

Members of the Alaska Bureau of Investigation’s Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs task force contacted Washington resident Kenneth R. Bradley, 49, after they received a tip about suspected drug activity on the M/V Kennecott. According to trooper dispatch, the SEACAD task force arrested Bradley on an outstanding warrant and took him to the Ketchikan Correctional Center.

Prior to his arrest, troopers said Bradley was found to possess “residual amounts of suspected crack cocaine.” After a K9 sniff, task force members obtained a search warrant, seized Bradley’s luggage and discovered two ounces of bulk methamphetamine. Troopers said Bradley was also found to be carrying 32 small plastic bags of the drug for distribution.

Bradley was remanded on charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance and possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
