A 39-year-old Fairbanks man has been indicted on murder charges after police say he shot and killed his wife earlier this year.
Early in the morning of March 20, the Fairbanks Police Department was called to a Pedro Street residence following reports that shots had been fired. When police arrived, they found 35-year-old Crystal S. McDonald deceased. Her husband, John C. McDonald, was at the scene and said she had shot herself, according to a statement from FPD.
An investigation by authorities revealed John McDonald was responsible for his wife’s death, police said, and he was indicted on first- and second-degree murder charges. He was taken into custody and remanded at the Fairbanks Correctional Center.
