Authorities are searching for a Fairbanks man indicted on an attempted murder count.
A warrant was issued for 39-year-old Richard W. Lane after he forced himself into a home north of Fairbanks the night of Aug. 24 and assaulted a woman by strangling her four times, according to Alaska State Troopers.
The woman escaped the home, ran to a neighbor’s house and called 911, an AST dispatch says. When troopers arrived at the residence where the assault took place, Lane had already fled the home.
On Thursday, Lane was indicted on four counts of second-degree assault, first-degree burglary and attempted first-degree murder. A no bail warrant was issued for his arrest.
