A woman in Fairbanks was arrested on a first-degree murder charge Wednesday after police say she called them to admit to killing her cousin.
At around 1 p.m., 25-year-old Emmalee Clark called the Fairbanks Police Department stating she had shot and killed her cousin, 33-year-old Jeanelle Clark, according to a release from the Fairbanks police.
When authorities responded to the call, they found the victim dead from a gunshot wound at a residence on Gillam Way. Investigators believe the fatal shooting occurred early Wednesday morning.
Clark was arrested for first-degree murder and transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Facility.
The victim’s next-of-kin have been notified, police say.
