A disabled man bringing a gift home to his wife fell victim to a jewelry thief Christmas Eve, according to the Juneau Police Department.
In a Friday statement, the department said it’s looking for “a Grinch who stole Christmas, or at least stole Christmas gifts.” The theft happened at a Juneau Fred Meyer Dec. 24, police said. The victim, who struggles with mobility issues, had just purchased a diamond and tanzanite pendant and earring set worth $700 when he either dropped the bag or looked away from his cart, police said, and the jewelry was stolen.
