Anchorage police are investigating an early-morning shooting in Fairview that left a man wounded.
At around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, the Anchorage Police Department received calls from several people saying they heard multiple shots fired in the Fairview area. When police responded to a shooting in the area of 12th Avenue and Medfra Street, they found a 30-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
“Bullets had also struck a nearby vehicle and a home,” according to a release from APD. “But no other injuries were reported.”
Police say the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made at this time, APD says, and the victim’s name is being withheld at this time.
“Additional details will be released as they become available,” APD says, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
