Anchorage police say two men were injured in shootings that happened in the overnight hours between Friday and Saturday. APD is now seeking a suspect, Michael Sharp, in connection with one of those shootings.
On Friday, officers went to two homes in response to a verbal altercation between three people, a 23-year-old woman, her 23-year old boyfriend — who police have identified as Sharp — and the father of the woman’s children.
The verbal argument moved from one location to another, with the two homes located approximately five miles away from each other, according to a release from the Anchorage Police Department. No arrests were made in Friday’s incident.
On Saturday, just after 3 a.m., APD responded to calls reporting shots had been fired in the area of the 7300 block of Clairborne Circle. Police say the father of the woman’s children, 24-year-old Zachary Johnson, and a friend drove to a home on the 7200 block of Bearfoot Drive so the friend could retrieve some items. As Johnson was waiting outside, Sharp came from inside the residence and shot him multiple times.
Johnson drove off but soon crashed into a parked truck on Clairborne Circle. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police say.
A warrant has been issued for Sharp’s arrest for one count of first-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree weapons misconduct.
Anyone with information on Sharp’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact APD at 786-8900 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP.
