A man was arrested after police say he sent a 12-year-old girl pornographic images and texts with intentions to meet with her for purposes sexual in nature.
On Tuesday morning, the 12-year-old’s parents filed a report with the Anchorage Police Department after discovering the texts and images. The messages were “obvious attempts by an unknown male to sexually exploit their 12-year-old daughter,” according to an APD release.
The case was taken over by detectives with the Anchorage Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Unit, where further investigation revealed the male’s intention was to meet with the 12-year-old for sex.
After agreeing upon a meeting place in Fairview, police say instead of the 12-year-old meeting the man, members of APD’s Special Assignment Unit were waiting — and when the man arrived, he was detained by police.
“The male was positively identified as David Allen Williams Hadley,” says APD. “Hadley was questioned and made admissions about his actions and intentions.”
Hadley, 30, was arrested for one count of first-degree attempted sexual abuse of a minor and one count of online enticement, police say. He was taken to the Anchorage Jail; police say additional charges may be added as the investigation continues.
Detectives are concerned that there may be additional victims of child sexual exploitation in the community. Anyone with information is urged to contact APD’s Cyber Crimes Unit at 786-8500.
