The Anchorage Police Department arrested 22-year-old Jason Eaton Thursday afternoon after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend.
The victim called police to Eaton’s apartment on the 4100 block of Wright Street at 1:15 p.m.
Investigation revealed the two had been in a verbal argument because the victim wanted “to take a nap instead of running an errand” with Eaton, according to a statement from police.
The victim laid down and was awoken roughly 10 minutes later “after being stabbed in the head,” police wrote.
Medical personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Eaton was taken into custody without incident, according to police. He faces a felony first-degree assault charge and is being held at the Anchorage Correctional Complex under a $17,000 bail.
Drug use is considered a factor in the investigation, according to APD spokeswoman Renee Oistad. She says Eaton could face additional drug charges if the district attorney chooses to pursue them.
