ANCHORAGE – A fight between neighbors escalated to a stabbing in Spenard Monday evening, police said.
Anchorage Police Department Sgt. Jason Allen said officers were called to a home on Dorbrandt Street following a “verbal altercation” between about five people living in two houses on either side of the street. When two people from one of the houses crossed the street to confront the suspect, Allen said one was stabbed.
The victim — whose name has not been released — was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not yet released the suspect’s name or the charges against him, but said he was taken into custody Monday evening.
“As soon as we could get officers free from actually tending to the victim of the stabbing, we went to the residence where we found the suspect and we detained him,” Allen said.
