Anchorage police arrested two men Friday morning and are searching for a third in the burglary of a Spenard Road business.
According to a release, at 2 a.m. a resident living above a business in the 5000 block of Spenard Road reported someone breaking in below. When Anchorage Police Department officers arrived, they arrested 26-year-old Faamolemole Uiese. Police say he was arrested after jumping a fence and falling to the ground.
Police stated Uiese was bleeding from his leg when he was arrested and the source of the blood was a self-inflicted gunshot wound from weeks before. Uiese was charged with criminal trespassing.
Fale Moevao, 30, was arrested after what police described as a brief chase in vehicle and on foot. In the release Friday, they stated Moevao initially left the scene in a Chevy Suburban despite police attempts to contain him in the parking lot. Shortly after, the Suburban got stuck in a marshy area and he fled on foot, leaving the truck.
APD says Moevao was tracked down by a police dog and arrested. Moevao was charged with burglary, vehicle theft, eluding police, resisting arrest, and driving with a suspended license.
APD believe a third suspect was involved in the burglary and escaped on foot. In the release, police describe him as 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing dark pants and a light-colored sweatshirt.
