The Juneau Arts and Convention Center (JACC) was trashed and several items were stolen sometime Thursday night or early Friday morning, according to the Juneau Police Department.
The break-in was reported around 7:15 a.m., a statement from police said.
“Several of the glass display cases within the JACC were knocked over, damaged, and their contents thrown onto the floor,” police wrote. “The offices inside the building had been entered, rifled and desk drawers had been removed and dumped out.”
Items reported stolen from the JACC included a safe, artwork, jewelry and prints, according to police, who added that a full list of stolen items was not finished. They said the estimated value of the damage was around $10,000.
Few other details were immediately available. Efforts to reach Juneau police Friday evening were unsuccessful.
