The Anchorage Police Department is investigating a shooting in the Spenard neighborhood.
Few details were immediately available, but a release from police said around 8:30 p.m. Thursday a male called and reported he had been shot near Wyoming Drive and West 37th Avenue. He told police he was calling from a nearby gas station.
Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital. Police said he is expected to survive. They have not yet release detail about the victim’s age or identity.
The suspected shooter was arrested after a large police search, APD wrote, but they are continuing to investigate and interview witnesses.
No charges had been filed as of 9:50 p.m. Thursday, according to police.
