Police have released the names of the two people found dead near Ship Creek, over the holiday weekend, as 20-year-old Brianna Foisy and 41-year-old Jason Netter Sr. Their deaths have been ruled a double homicide, according to a release from the Anchorage Police Department.
APD said someone passing by on a bike path near Post Road and Viking Drive discovered their bodies shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday.
Detectives are not releasing the cause of death, police said. According to APD spokesperson Anita Shell, it is not unusual for police to withhold the cause of death if it wasn’t already public knowledge. She said it’s easier for homicide detectives to weed out good information from bad information during the investigation if that information is not released.
Shell did not know the relationship between Foisy and Netter.
No arrests have been made.
