The Anchorage Police Department says a shooting that killed a woman and hospitalized a man on Saturday night is being investigated as a murder and attempted suicide.
Police spokeswoman Renee Oistad identified the suspect in the case as Cher Lor, who was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound following the shooting, which was reported around 10:30 p.m. Pang Xiong, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene, having also suffered a gunshot wound.
“It is unclear if Xiong and Lor were married, but neighbors say they were living together,” police said in a statement.
Police noted Xiong’s two children, ages 10 and 15, were in the home at the time of shooting. They were not harmed, according to police.
Lor was still in the hospital in critical condition Wednesday afternoon. Police have yet to file charges in this case.
