A 17-year-old male was taken to an Anchorage hospital with serious injuries after he was shot in the chest in the Fairview neighborhood early Monday morning, according to Anchorage Police Department spokesperson Anita Shell.
Shell provided few details, but said at 4:48 a.m. the teen walked into a Holiday Gas Station, at the 4600 block of Mountain View Drive, with a gunshot injury to the chest. He told responding officers he had been shot minutes earlier while driving in the area of 6th Avenue and Karluk Street, Shell said.
The teen is expected to survive.
Shell said no arrests have been made and police are still investigating.
