ANCHORAGE – A 71-year-old Soldotna woman was hospitalized Sunday morning after a head-on collision with an intoxicated Kenai driver.
According to Alaska State Trooper dispatch, 20-year-old Ashli Kippi was driving south in the northbound lane of the Kenai Spur Highway when she struck the 2006 Ford pickup truck driven by Linda Wirz. Troopers responded to mile 3.5 of the highway shortly after 7:30 a.m., and said Wirz was taken to Central Peninsula Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Kippi was arrested on charges of DUI, driving in violation of an instructional permit, third-degree assault, first-degree assault and leaving the scene of an accident.
