Following an eight-day trial, a federal jury found 44-year-old Murville “Lamar” Lampkin guilty on multiple charges, Tuesday, related to drug trafficking and money laundering, according to a release from the Alaska U.S. Attorney’s office.

This is his third drug-related conviction. Lampkin faces 20 years to life in prison and will be sentenced in January by U.S. District Judge Sharon Gleason.

Lampkin has spent much of his adult life behind bars. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2002 after he pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute, and was convicted of “promoting contraband” by the Alaska state court for having oxycodone and marijuana while serving prison time.

He was also convicted on assault charges in 2012 following a fight outside of the now-shuttered Rumrunners Old Towne Bar and Grill.

The former Rumrunners bouncer was one of many arrested in January following an eight-month investigation by the FBI, Anchorage Police Department (APD), Alaska State Troopers (AST) and U.S. Marshals.

Six others were indicted as part of the same investigation. According to APD, the group was operating a drug trafficking ring out of an East Anchorage nail salon owned by Toa “Tony” Ly.

Undercover agents witnessed members of the group making illegal drug sales on multiple occasions outside a McDonald’s on Muldoon Rd. and a Carrs store on Debarr Rd.

Records show they deposited thousands of dollars into multiple Wells Fargo accounts set up by Ly, according to the States Attorney’s office. Lumpkin alone deposited $57,000 of drug money into the accounts.

Two of those indicted — Renee Davis and Adam Cornelison — received prison sentences earlier this year related to drug trafficking charges. Three of the defendants — Ly, Pao Lee and Robert Rast — pleaded guilty to distribution of a controlled substance and are awaiting sentencing. Tracy Trujillo pleaded guilty to money laundering and is scheduled to be sentenced in January 2017.
