A multi-agency effort led to the arrest of three people accused of being involved in a fatal shooting at a Fairbanks club.
The shooting occurred around 2:37 a.m. on Sept. 5, 2016 at the Bojangles nightclub, and claimed the life of 27-year-old Michael Jeremy Hodges. Two others, 22-year-old Breannah Mitchell and 25-year-old Jesse Anderson, were wounded in the shooting.
According to a statement from Fairbanks police, gunfire was reported both inside and outside the club at the time of the shooting.
On Monday, Fairbanks and Anchorage police officers and Alaska State Troopers arrested 28-year-old Joshua Haynes, 32-year-old Gabrielle Haynes and 22-year-old Spc. Tevyn Davis, who is stationed at Fort Wainwright, according to a released from Fairbanks police spokeswoman Yumi McCulloch.
McCulloch said Gabrielle Haynes and Davis were arrested during a coordinated traffic stop at mile 81 of the Parks Highway around 2:45 p.m. Both were transported to the Anchorage Police Department. Fairbanks detectives flew down to Anchorage to speak with them. Ultimately, police charged Gabrielle Haynes with third-degree misconduct involving a weapon, and Davis with second-degree murder, according to McCulloch.
Fairbanks police located Joshua Haynes on Davis Road around 5:45 p.m. and transported him to the Fairbanks Correctional Center, McCulloch said. He faces charges of second- and third-degree misconduct involving a weapon.
Following the arrests, investigators served three residential search warrants, according to McCulloch.
“The Fairbanks Police Department would like to thank the Alaska State Troopers and the Anchorage Police Department for their help in this coordinated series of arrests,” she wrote.
