A 36-year-old Anchorage woman is in custody after, Alaska State Troopers say, she concealed the identity of a man who fled from state law enforcement on the Kenai Peninsula Wednesday.

In a trooper dispatch, the agency wrote that troopers stopped a teal 2000 Ford F150 for a moving violation in Sterling, near Glacier Avenue. When troopers contacted those inside the vehicle, a passenger fled into the woods. According to AST, they were unable to locate him. He was later identified as Casey M. Douglas, a 39-year-old man from Anchorage.

Troopers wrote that Douglas has an active felony warrant. According to Alaska’s online court records, he has an open case for vehicle theft and driving without a license charges. Court records show he failed to appear at a bailing hearing, where he was out of custody, in January.

For Wednesday’s incident, troopers contacted Jennifer Blankenship.

“Investigation revealed Blankenship hindered the apprehension of Douglas by concealing his identity,” AST wrote. “Further Investigation revealed she was on probation and was in violation of her conditions.”

She was arrested on probation violations, and faces several new charges — first-degree hindering the prosecution and vehicle theft, as well as a criminal mischief. She’s being held without bail at the Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

Anyone with information on Douglas’ whereabout is being urged to call troopers at 907-262-4453 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 907-283-5477.
