The Juneau Police Department said they received multiple 911 calls when a blue Dodge Caravan crashed through a home near Mendenhall Loop Road and Grant Street Friday night.
Around 10:20 p.m., the agency said, the Caravan hit the residences’ shed and then pushed into a wall in the house. Juneau police said the house sustained “significant damage” and other items in the shed were damaged, as well.
Witnesses told police they saw the driver run out of the area on foot; some followed the man until he climbed beneath a trailer at another home in the area. Police said they contacted the driver and identified him as 50-year-old Lance Cesar.
According to JPD, Cesar was intoxicated. They said his blood alcohol level as .227 percent. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and failing to provide immediate notice of a vehicle crash — both of which are misdemeanors. Cesar was booked at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
No one inside the home reported injuries, although one person did go to the hospital for an evaluation.
