The Anchorage Police Department (APD) is investigating the death of an elderly woman at a Midtown residence as a homicide.
In a release sent early Sunday evening, police said the unnamed woman “was found deceased at a residence on the 1000 block of E. 28th Ave.”
Someone called 911 around 1:18 p.m. Sunday to report the death.
“We are convinced it’s a homicide,” APD Sgt. Slav Markiewicz said at the scene.
He said the woman’s spouse asked neighbors to call police.
Police are still conducting interviews, but do not believe there are any outstanding suspects, said Markiewicz.
Police ask anyone with information to call them at 907-786-8900.
This is a developing story; please check back for updates.
