The Anchorage Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating 23-year-old Myles Boomer Gilmer for a shooting that injured another man.
APD said at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday, police dispatch received several calls that a man was bleeding and yelling for help. When officers arrived at the 3800 block of Peterkin Avenue, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg.
The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening injury.
During the investigation, police spoke to witnesses and processed the scene. APD said they determined that Gilmer “was responsible for the shooting.”
“Initial indications are that the shooting occurred during an argument over drugs,” police said.
According to APD, they attempted, but failed, to locate Gilmer. But, they said he was a warrant — for first-degree assault — out for his arrest.
The agency describes him as six feet tall, 180 pounds, with brown hair, and black dreadlocks.
Anyone with information on the shooting, or on Gilmer’s whereabouts is asked to call Anchorage police at 907-786-8900.
