Three juveniles were taken into custody after a girl suffered a pellet gun wound to the leg Sunday afternoon.
Anchorage police say they responded to the 4200 block of Mountain View Drive just before 3 p.m. for a report of shots fired and one person hurt.
Anchorage Fire Department and medics determined the victim suffered a wound caused by a pellet gun. Her injuries were treated at the scene, police said.
Police said they were able to make the arrests thanks to some citizens who said they saw where the juveniles were running to.
APD said they found a pellet gun resembling a black handgun in the area where the suspects were arrested.
One of the juveniles was charged with five counts of assault in the third-degree, one count of failure to stop and one count of evidence tampering. The other two were charged with failure to stop for a police officer.
