Alaska State Troopers have arrested a man accused of strangling a female relative.
Troopers responded to a call in Butte around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. As they approached the scene, authorities say troopers observed 31-year-old William Olinger strangling a female family member.
Olinger reportedly threw the woman onto the ground and strangled her until she went unconscious.
The victim sustained minor injuries before troopers apprehended the suspect. Olinger is charged with one count each of assault in the second and fourth degree.
Olinger is being held without bail.
