ANCHORAGE - An East Anchorage man stabbed two people right outside his home, but was it self-defense?

Police say he was working on his car on the 700 block of North Bragaw Street.

Just before 2 a.m., two men walked up to him. They got into an argument that turned physical.

During the scuffle, police say he stabbed the men and then left the scene.

Police found the victims a few blocks away. Both were taken to the hospital with critical but non-life-threatening injuries.

“It appears that they live catty-corner to each other,” said police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro. “Whether or not they know each other or they’ve talked before, I don’t have any of that information at this time, but usually you have a pretty good idea of who is in your neighborhood if you’re that kind of a person.”

Investigators are working to determine if the stabbing was indeed self-defense.

No charges or arrests have been made at this point.
