ANCHORAGE – Alaska State Troopers are in the early stages of an investigation involving a suspicious death and a marijuana grow operation in the Mat-Su Valley.

According to trooper dispatch, the body of 60-year-old Palmer resident Theodore Konyot was discovered by a family member, who reported the death around 8 p.m. Monday. While the State Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner of death, trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters said Konyot’s death is considered suspicious. A marijuana grow operation with 60 plants was also discovered on the property. Peters was unable to confirm Konyot’s connection to the operation.
