Authorities are asking for your help finding a suspect wanted in a West Anchorage bank robbery.
Just before 11 a.m. Monday, the Alaska USA Federal Credit Union located in the Carrs at 1650 W. Northern Lights Blvd. was robbed, said the FBI Anchorage Division in a statement.
As the alleged suspect approached a teller station, he took off his gloves and demanded money while “gesturing and pointing with his hands,” the FBI statement said.
The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money, which he put in a white grocery bag that had previously been stuffed in his coat sleeve, the FBI said. He ran away from the bank and Carrs through the tobacco shop exit.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-40s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and with a medium build. He has brown and gray hair with light stubble or no facial hair.
He was wearing dark-colored shoes, khakis, black gloves, a “black puffy winter coat with a hood,” shades with iridescent lenses and thick black and red frames and a black baseball cap with a white logo and lettering on the front, the FBI statement said.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Special Agent Kevin Donovan at 276-4441 or the Anchorage Police Department at 786-8500.
