A 38-year-old Juneau woman faces numerous criminal charges following a Parks Highway crash Wednesday afternoon.
Alaska State Troopers initially responded to a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately call around 4:50 p.m., according to trooper dispatch. While troopers were en route, AST said the red Jeep Cherokee in question — driven by Trisha A. Corser — hit a guardrail near mile 133, ejecting a male passenger and dog from the rear of the vehicle.
Investigation revealed Corser had been driving under the influence of alcohol and without a driver’s license, troopers said. While her passenger was seriously injured flown to an Anchorage hospital by helicopter, AST said Corser was driven to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center and subsequently arrested.
She faces charges of driving under the influence, third-degree assault and driving without a license, and was taken to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility were she was held without bail, troopers said.
The dog was uninjured in the crash, according to AST dispatch.
