Two people were injured in a South Anchorage gas station robbery Thursday evening, authorities said.
Shortly after 8 p.m., Anchorage police were called to a robbery outside the Holiday gas station on Jewel Lake Road. When they arrived, they found two people had been struck by a baton-style instrument, said Anchorage Police Department spokeswoman Dani Myren in a statement.
One victim sustained minor injuries and another was hospitalized with what police say they believe are non-life-threatening injuries. According to the injured victims, a backpack was stolen in the robbery, Myren said.
People have been detained for questioning, police said, and an investigation is ongoing.
