The Anchorage Police Department is asking for public help locating a man with multiple felony warrants.
Warren Calhoun, 44, currently faces counts of assault, vehicle theft and driving with a suspended license, according to APD. Police said he may frequent Mizelle Park, near the corner of Mountain View Drive and N. Lane Street.
Calhoun has a long history of getting in trouble with the law, APD spokeswoman Anita Shell said, citing seven incidents in the past year. The latest two are what triggered the search for him.
On July 8, he punched a woman in the head several times, Shell said. When the victim tried to call 911, Calhoun snatched her phone and broke it. Then, he stole her car.
Tuesday, Shell said he assaulted the same woman when he shoved her in a bathroom, causing her to fall into a bathtub and hit her head on a toilet. While in the tub, Calhoun choked the woman, bit her shoulder and punched her several times in the head and face.
Calhoun is 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 180 pounds with black hair and black eyes, police said. APD said anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Anchorage Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP or submit an anonymous tip here. Because he is prone to aggression, Calhoun should not be approached by citizens, Shell said.
