ANCHORAGE – Alaska State Troopers are investigating a pair of thefts from a Meadow Lakes neighborhood over the weekend.
According to trooper dispatch, the suspect stole a 2013 Polaris Assault 800 snowmachine from a residence on Karen Street before walking across the street and taking a pair of binoculars from a vehicle parked at another residence Saturday morning.
The snowmachine theft was reported around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, less than a week after troopers announced the formation of a new Crime Suppression Unit specifically aimed at reducing the rising number of property crimes in the Mat-Su Valley.
Thursday, troopers asked for public help identifying a man connected to another string of thefts and attempted break-ins in a Wasilla neighborhood.
Law enforcement officers ask anyone with information about any of those crimes to call Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 907-745-3333
